In November 2024, Peloton conducted a research survey to gain a deeper understanding of consumer needs in six commercial customer segments: travelers, multi-family residents, public safety, corporate employees, students, and gym-goers. We learned a lot from that survey about what consumers truly value when it comes to commercial health and fitness offerings.
And that’s not all we discovered: With the launch of a Member feedback survey, we also gathered a multitude of meaningful responses from Peloton Members on how access to Peloton equipment and the Peloton App in commercial spaces—like hotels and corporate fitness centers—has played a game-changing role in their wellness journeys.
Ahead, discover key learnings from each segment of Peloton’s commercial research survey, plus how Peloton can enhance your commercial fitness space through dynamic, versatile programming that resonates with consumers.
Travelers
With the continued popularity of wellness retreats and the rise of the “active travel” trend, guest access to high-quality fitness offerings remains a priority amenity for travelers on vacation. Peloton’s commercial research survey revealed that 3 in 4 Peloton Member travelers and 3 in 5 non-Member travelers rank elevated fitness amenities (defined as unique offerings that may not be common in hotels or vacation rentals) as equally important or more important than other amenities while traveling. Those who travel regularly for business may rely on hotel fitness centers to maintain a healthy lifestyle, putting even more emphasis on the significance of high-quality equipment and premium wellness programs.
The presence of Peloton equipment, specifically, and/or the ability to access the Peloton App’s wide range of classes may even influence where some travelers ultimately decide to lodge. Over 75 percent of Peloton Members surveyed said they are more likely to choose a hotel if it has Peloton equipment and/or class content.
For travelers who are already Peloton Members, having access to Peloton’s versatile equipment allows them to stick to their regular exercise routines, better meet their personal goals, and connect with their community while on the road. “The Peloton Bike and App are such a part of our daily lives, we look for hotels that have Peloton Bikes when we travel and have convinced coworkers, neighbors, and friends to get the Bike/App as well so we can work out together,” says Peloton Member Elisabeth.

It’s not uncommon for Members to first experience Peloton at a hotel fitness center. “I first tried the Peloton Bike in March 2024 while staying at a Hilton hotel—and I instantly fell in love,” says Peloton Member James. “I knew I had to get my own Bike.”
Others say the introduction to Peloton at a hotel transformed their relationship with fitness—proof that a short-term stay can have a long-term impact on guests’ lives.
Peloton’s commercial research survey even revealed that travelers take fitness center offerings into account when budgeting for their trips. 70 percent of Peloton Members surveyed said they were willing to pay more for their accommodations if access to Peloton equipment and programming was available.
Multi-Family Residents
For many potential tenants, the presence of a residential gym is an amenity that makes a strong impression. According to the apartment building and condo residents surveyed in Peloton’s commercial research study, a fitness center or gym is the most important amenity considered when deciding where to live. A dedicated fitness space not only promotes a sense of community in multi-family residential buildings, but it’s also an extremely convenient perk for residents who don’t have time to commute to the gym on a daily basis.
The brand of fitness equipment offered in a residential gym seems to make a difference on whether residents will utilize the space as well. For instance, Peloton’s study found that nearly 1 in 2 residents surveyed said they were more likely to use the gym in their apartment building or condo if it had Peloton equipment.
For Peloton Member Gay, the presence of two Peloton Bikes in her apartment complex changed everything. “With so many instructors and genres of music, it never got old,” she says. “My inspiration was a photo of my grandfather astride his bike around 1910. When I was still cycling after 18 months, my kids surprised me with a Peloton Bike of my own. I am now in my fifth year with about 2500 rides to my credit.”
Students
From reduced stress to better sleep, regular exercise boasts a myriad of benefits for college students. In fact, 81 percent of students surveyed in Peloton’s commercial research study said that working out helps them better manage their mental and emotional well-being. Research even suggests that exercise can have a positive impact on academic performance.
For college rec directors looking to enhance their institutions’ fitness offerings and encourage greater use of college recreation centers, investing in Peloton’s commercial equipment, whether it’s the Peloton Bike, Peloton Bike+, or Peloton Row, can help. Nearly 50 percent of students surveyed in Peloton’s survey said that they would use their campus recreation center more if it had Peloton equipment.
Peloton also received inspiring personal accounts from college-age Members who have experienced both physical and emotional benefits from using the Peloton App. “After a friend let me use her Peloton Bike one day in 2022, I decided to download the App. As a broke college student working full time to make ends meet and at my heaviest weight, I knew this was an investment I had to try,” Peloton Member Carlee says. “I downloaded the App and made my own account. Now in 2025, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been, nearly 50 pounds down, and just happier.”
Gym-Goers
Insights from Peloton’s research survey suggest that the presence of Peloton equipment in commercial gyms may drive more foot traffic to the space—and may even attract new members in some cases. 80percent of Peloton Member gym-goers and over 50 percent of non-Member gym-goers surveyed revealed they would be more likely to sign up for a gym membership if it included access to Peloton equipment.
What’s more, out of the gym-goers surveyed, over 75 percent of Peloton Members and nearly 50 percent of non-Members shared they were willing to pay more for their gym membership if it included access to Peloton equipment.
Peloton’s immersive programming features classes for every level, mood, and schedule, which gives gym-going members the ability to build an exercise routine that they look forward to following. Thanks to Peloton’s commercial software, anyone that visits your gym facility can create an account, take a class, and track their stats over time. The Peloton Bike and Bike+ pedals are dual-sided with SPD-compatible clips and cages, so gym members can use both bike shoes and athletic shoes while riding.
Public Safety
Supplying first responders and public safety personnel with the resources they need to prioritize their health and wellbeing is a key responsibility for health and wellness directors. Many public safety workers have shared first-hand how Peloton has made a difference in how they approach fitness while balancing their personal lives and time spent serving their communities.
“Peloton has been a complete game-changer for my busy life,” says Peloton Member Allie, who works as a firefighter and an EMT. “I love the flexibility the App gives me, since I live one-third of my life in a fire station. I use my Bike at home to help get my cardio in. And I am able to use the App to bring those same routines and different workouts to work!”

Peloton’s commercial research study also revealed insights into how access to the equipment may help public safety workers feel better equipped to perform their essential duties. For instance, nearly two-thirds of public safety workers surveyed said that they’re more likely to meet their job’s physical fitness requirements if they have access to Peloton equipment at work.
And thanks to Peloton Challenges, Tags, and Teams, public safety workers can build camaraderie with their teammates, motivate one another, and celebrate milestones. Over 3 in 5 public safety workers surveyed in Peloton’s study said that they would feel more connected to their teammates if they had access to Peloton equipment at work.
Corporate Employees
Offering a strong fitness experience as a corporate benefit encourages overall employee wellness and a healthy, supportive workplace environment. In fact, 68 percent of corporate employees who work in a hybrid or in-person environment surveyed in Peloton’s commercial research study said that having access to Peloton equipment at work would show that their employer cares about their well-being.

Peloton member Brendan says that the Peloton Bikes in his office’s gym inspired a new and improved relationship with health and fitness—after one 20-minute Pop Ride with Bradley Rose, he was hooked. Over time, Brendan even added running (an exercise modality he used to hate) to his lineup. “I’m happier, healthier, and more motivated than ever before,” he says.
Peloton’s study also revealed that many employees feel that elevated corporate fitness benefits would boost their work performance—68 percent of corporate employees who work in a hybrid or in-person environment surveyed say that having access to Peloton equipment in their office gym would make them more engaged at work, while nearly two-thirds said that having access to Peloton equipment at work would increase their productivity.
Adding a Peloton Bike or Row to your corporate gym can also strengthen your return-to-office strategy and bolster excitement regarding in-person workplace collaboration. Over three-fifths of corporate employees who work in a hybrid or in-person environment surveyed say that they are more likely to accept an in-person or hybrid role if there is Peloton equipment in the office gym.
